Synopsis:

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than Arum has come to town

The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then, everything changes

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.

Review:

OMG if y’all thought that Obsidian was a good book, you haven’t seen anything yet. The relationship between Daemon and Kat steam up as Daemon is determined to prove his feelings for the only girl he’s ever fallen for-Kat. Meanwhile Kat struggles between her own feelings and sorting through what’s real and what’s formed from the bond they now share. The conflict between their enemies intensifies as a new big player is introduced and throws everything out the window, so to speak.

As characters come into play and secrets are revealed, alliances and sides come into play that makes everything cloudy. The plot is twisted and turned, a kind of novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat and craving more. Nothing is concrete and there are so many back-stabbings and betrayals that it can get confusing, but still a great read.

This was a great sequel and sets up the perfect ending for the next book. The cliff at the end will have you throwing the book across he room, have a hissy fit, and scream your head off at the suspense grows and grows and then stops. I highly recommend this book. 9 out of 10!!

Sunday Spoilers!!

Standard

This is a spoiler/teaser for Jennifer L. Armentrout’s last novel for the Lux series, Opposition, which is scheduled to release in the summer of 2014. Enjoy!!

Pepe31~Katy~

I always had this plan for the off chance I was around for the end of the world. I’d climb up on my roof top, turn up the radio, blast R.E.M.’s It’s the End of the World, and watch it all go down from my lofty perch.

Except real life rarely turned out that cool.

And it was really happening- the end of the world as we knew it, and I sure as hell didn’t feel fine. Everything had changed and we had been the catalyst for it all

~End of Spoiler~

Okay guys, can I just say HOLY FREAKING ALIEN BABIES BATMAN??  This teaser got me all excited and giddy when I read it, and I was already trying to figure out what they meant by being a catalyst. I had already been stoked about the new book but now I’m practically having to MAKE myself walk away from my kindle because I’m so anxious about reading it, especially after the way Jennifer L. Armentrout left her last novel, Origin. I can not physically make myself focus on anything else but this new book coming out. So for all you die-hard readers out there, stalk your bookstore/ebook provider until the pre-order comes out!!! CAN’T WAIT!!!

Synopsis:

When 17 year old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she’d pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up…until he opened his mouth. Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It’s hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens. The hot guy next door? Well, he’s an alien. Turns out that Daemon and his sister have a Galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities and Katy is caught in the crosshairs. Daemon’s touch has her lit up like the Vegas Strip and the only way she’s getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until her alien mojo fades. That is if she doesn’t kill him first.

Review:

Can I just say HOLY ALIEN BABIES BATMAN!! This was such a good book!! I literally could not put it down even if I had wanted to (which was a no go…how could I put this baby down?) Jennifer L. Armentrout is an amazing author and I loved the book. After reading so many vampire and werewolf novels (which are awesome too) this was like a breath of fresh air after a muggy day. The relationship between Daemon and Kat had me tossing and turning wondering if they would give in to their obvious attraction for each other. The plot twists and surprises keep you on your toes and make you wish to never see the last page. I got caught up in the fictional world of aliens and hot, moody next door neighbors and I’m so glad I did. For all you readers out there who wan a steamy and passionate romance with trouble around every corner, buy a copy and immerse yourself into the world of Daemon Black!!! 9.5 out of 10 definitely!!!

Excerpt:

~Katy~

“Every inch of my body became aware of is. How his thigh was molded to mine. The deep, even breaths moving his stomach under my hand. How his hand curved around my waist, his thumb moving in idle, soothing circles at the hem of my shirt. Each circle inched the material up a little, exposing my skin until his thumb was against the curve of my waist. Flesh against flesh. I was hot and shivery. A feeling I had little experience with. His hand stilled. Pushing up, I looked into a pair of startling green eyes. “What…what happened?”

“You passed out,” he said, pulling his arm away from my waist. “I did?” I scooted back, putting distance between us as I brushed my tangled hair out of my face. The metallic taste was still on the roof of my mouth. He nodded. “I guess the bear scared you. I had to carry you back.”

“All the way?” Dammit. I missed that?
