finding usSynopsis:

That is until she meets him — Knox Mitchell. She tries to elude him, but he’s everywhere. When she finally gives in, he begins to avoid her.

One tragic night, Knox’s future was ripped away. His body and soul crave revenge from the man who took everything away from him, but when Jasmine crashes into Knox’s muddled life, he’s torn. What is he supposed to do about falling for the girl who was to be part of his plan for retaliation?

When all secrets are revealed can they move forward without the past destroying any hopes of having a future?

Excerpts:

Knox reaches over and pushes the braid that’s lying over my shoulder to my back and leans over to kiss my exposed shoulder. My eyes close and I want to wrap our time up here in a jar and carry it with me everywhere I go. Everything in this moment is perfect. I’m happy and content which hasn’t happened in some time. I’m always so guarded around everyone except Summer. The reason behind my wing tattoos is because when I finally decided to get out from under Mom and Dad I wanted to find my wings and be my own person. I wanted to grow, change and find my way in life.

“Jas,” Knox says so low it was barely auditable.

I open my eyes to the sound of his voice only to feel a tickle on my right shoulder. I don’t move an inch because I know what it is. Out of the corner of my eye I can see a beautiful black butterfly with four spots, white and then blending into purple, on each side of the wings. The end of the wings are all jagged but the intensity of the colors draw away from them.

Knox is able to slip away as the butterfly just sits perched on my shoulder, lightly fluttering her wings. I hear the sound of Knox’s camera snapping pictures as he walks around capturing different angles. I turn my head inch by inch so I can get a better look at the beauty sitting on my shoulder.

A lady who’s wearing a uniform with a patch that shows that she works here comes over to my other side and wipes something cool on the top of my left hand which is resting on my thigh. When she’s finishes she simply walks away. What the hell was that about?

Minutes later the butterfly sitting on my shoulder flies away and another tiny white butterfly lands on the top of my right hand in the exact spot that the employee rubbed whatever it was on my skin.

Knox takes his seat beside me again. “It’s sugar water. The butterflies love it.” He nods to the sign in front of the waterfall. “I read it on that.” Knox adds after I give him a look of disbelief that he would know such a fact.

I lift my hand in the air and the butterfly takes off to a nearby flower. I place my hand on Knox’s leg and give it a little squeeze. “Thank you for bringing me here.”

He places his large hand on top of mine, “You’re welcome, Beautiful. I’m glad you like it.”

And if that wasn’t enough to convince you this is a must read, here is another excerpt!

Later that night Knox takes me to bed. He helps me rid myself of clothes and I do the same to him. We climb into his bed and lie facing each other. Knox pulls me closer to him and puts my arms around his neck. I cradle him to my chest, content in this moment.

“I’m falling hard, Jas.” Knox says with so much emotion in his voice it makes me want to be a girly girl and cry.

My heartbeat picks up. I run my hand through his hair, comforting him. “Me too.”

“I’m still trying to find my way out of this nightmare I’ve been living in.” Knox sighs deeply.

“I’m still trying to find my way in life.” I place a finger under Knox’s chin and tilt his head up. What I see in his eyes is like a mirror of my own. “We’re both lost. We’re trying to find our way and we’re working on finding us.”

Knox’s breath hitches before he crashes his mouth to mine. “We’re finding us.”

I bite down on my bottom lip and Knox reaches up and releases it with his thumb before he kisses it. Something in this moment changes between us. We both admitted that we are finding us, finding our way to be with each other. This road is going to be bumpy as hell but it will be worth all the damage once we get to the other side. I hope.

Teaser Tuesday

Standard

This week’s Teaser Tuesday is an excerpt from Stay, written by Kelly Mooney. It is actually a really good book, so if you like this excerpt please go out and read it for yourself. Enjoy and happy readings!

untitledExcerpt:

And I was scared. Maybe he knew something was wrong by the way I’d acted earlier, but I wasn’t sure. We always talked about our future together like it was a no-brainer, but for some reason that night he made me promise him that no matter what happened, or what went wrong, that I would come to him before doing anything that I’d regret. I wanted to. I did. I loved him more than anything it his world and I really thought long and hard about my decision. For the first time in my life, I lied to the only man I’d ever loved. And probably would ever love.

I lied to Luke Matthews. As he held me in his arms, his index finger slid slowly down until it reached my knee. He wrapped his strong hand, ”

“It’s nothing.” He took a deep breath and then exhaled, kissing the corner of my mouth, then the other side.

t taken his eyes off of me,so I held back the tears.

“I love you for wanting to try, but you can’t this time.”He cocked his head scanning my face for a minute before he spoke again.

“Is itschool? Are you doing okay?”I shook my head.

“School’s fine.”Luke grinned.

“I almost forgot.” He pushed away from me, shuffling over tohis desk, and rifled through a bunch o papers. He pounced back on the bed likean excited kid on Christmas morning. “I got something for you. Well, I did some investigation for you.” He held the manila folder over his head, making me reach out for it. “Before I give this toou, you need to promise me not to getall pissy.”

I rolled my eyes. “I promise.”

Sunday Spoilers: Trouble

Standard

Trouble is written by Samantha Towle and was released on November 18, 2013 so it’s still a pretty new book, but I’ve read some good reviews on it so it made the spoilers list. Hope y’all enjoy it!

untitledSynopsis:

Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn’t ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn’t ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future, that yesterday, she could only dream of having.

Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life.

Then he meets Mia.

She’s damaged, troubled and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia-for the first time in his life-he finds himself wanting to try hard for something … for someone … for her.

And then life isn’t so easy anymore.
Jordan is everything Mia shouldn’t want. A whole bunch of dirty hotness, tattooed, cocky bad boy, who made his money at poker tables and picked his women up in bars. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that’s the problem with running … you have to stop sometime.

And when you stop, you get caught.

And now…the moment you have all been waiting for…EXCERPT!!

~Jordan~

I lean into her, cupping her cheek in my hand, more than ready to press my mouth to those sweet lips of hers…and then the noise level around us increases exponentially, until my ears are nearly bleeding from the squeals and screams of laughter.

And then I feel the reason for those screams of laughter, when paint splatters all over me. Mia’s eyes flash open. Her mouth popping to an O.

Motherfucking paint party! They couldn’t have waited – like, five more fucking minutes, before blasting that shit out! I run my hand through my hair and look down at my palm. It’s streaked with yellow, blue and pink neon paint. Mia’s hand goes to her face.

She’s equally as covered with the paint as I imagine I am. Running her fingers over her cheek, then her forehead, she streaks the colors, mixing them together.  She looks even more beautiful, if possible.  Incandescent. Exotic, like a rare species.

And incredibly dangerous to my heart. She looks up to watch the continuing shower of color, shielding her eyes with her hand, laughing.  And I can’t wait a fucking second longer. I take her face in my hands and I kiss her. Hard.

Okay…so…I guess it’s a no-brainer to say that this is now on my TBR pile…which is enormous. Looks like a good book though, let me know what y’all thought/think about it!
